Nimesulide Tablet Efficacy and Safety

The abilities of NSAID’s drug nimesulide to inhibit COX-2 preferentially and to exert other novel anti-inflammatory actions are consistent with good efficacy and safety and is consistently superior to placebo.

Nimesulide has proven that it gives rapid pain relief with its analgesic activity which shows relief from pain relief and inflammation within 15 minutes from drug intake.


Nimesulide must be prescribed by a licensed physician as second line treatment in the approved indications and in compliance with the recommendations
Daily dose is 100mg twice-a-day.


 As for other NSAIDs the use of nimesulide is recommended for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms in patients with acute pain or primary dysmenorrhoea.

Nimesulide drug was launched in Italy for the first time as Aulin and Mesulid in 1985 and is presently available in more than 50 countries worldwide with different trademarks.
