nimesulide for fever

Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drug which has been found to be useful in the treatment of fever.Clinical studies of Nimesulide in treating children with fever have been carried out. In the children receiving Nimesulide, it took 8.6h to reach normal temperature.  The mean decrease in temperature for each cycle was slightly higher for the Nimesulide group. The drugs were well tolerated by the children.Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the mainstay of treatment in pain. Various fixed dose combinations of NSAIDs are available in the market, particularly those of paracetamol and ibuprofen.
