Nimesulide is a leading NSAID’S drug with anti-inflammatory agent that differs from conventional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs both in structure and pharmacological profile.

The use of nimesulide in children under the age of 12 is contraindicated. Continuous use of nimesulide (more than 15 days) can cause the following side effects:

Nimesulide Actions and Uses

Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which acts as a cyclooxygenase- 2 inhibitor. Which has become a leading NSAID in over 50 countries worldwide for the treatment of post-traumatic inflammation, acute musculoskeletal disorders including sprains, strains, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, low back pain, periarthritis (shoulder pain) and osteoarthritis (joint pains), stiffness. Nimesulide is a multi-factorial drug in controlling inflammation and pain. The adverse reaction profile of nimesulide is, in general, like that of other NSAIDs. It does, however, have relatively low occurrence of gastro-intestinal (GI) side effects. As for other NSAIDs the use of Nimesulide is preffered for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms in patients with acute pain or primary dysmenorrhoea. Nimesulide is available in the form of gel, powder, capsules and tablets. Nimesulide also improves the skin tone and to increase in energy levels. Food, gender and advanced age have negligible effects on Nimesulide pharmacokinetics
