Nimesulide 100mg tablet and its efficacy

Nimesulide is a anti-inflammatory agent with analgesic, antipyretic properties to treat acute pain, the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis and primary dysmenorrhoea. As for other NSAIDs the use of nimesulide is recommended for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms in patients with acute pain or primary dysmenorrhoea. It has low gastro-intestinal and renal toxicity. Nimesulide is available in the form of tablets, powder for dissolution in water, suppositories, mouth dissolving tablets and topical gel. Nimesulide shows the instant pain relief from acute pain (short-term pain)within 15 minitues of drug intake The use of nimesulide in children under the age of 12 is contraindicated. Continuous use of nimesulide (more than 15 days) can cause the following side effects: Diarrhea Vomiting Skin rash Dizziness Bitterness in mouth.
