Nimesulide Tablet Dose

Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic (painrelief) and antipyretic(fever-reducing) effects.
Indications:
Nimesulide is mostly used for treatment of short-term pain(Acute), joint pain (osteoarthritis), period pains (Primary dysmennorhea), Chronic pains (long-term) and many.
Nimesulide Dosage:
  • Adults: 100 mg twice daily
  • Children: 5mg/kg of body weight in 2 or 3 divided doses.

    Dysmenorrhoea
    Adult: 100 mg bid limited to a max of 15 days.
  • Oral
    Osteoarthritis
    Adult: 100 mg bid limited to a max of 15 days.
  • Oral
    Postoperative pain
    Adult: 100 mg bid limited to a max of 15 days.
  • Oral
    Acute pain
    Adult: 100 mg bid limited to a max of 15 days.
The maximum duration and dose of a treatment course with Nimesulide is 15 days, 100 mg twice a day, to minimize the risk of hepatotoxicity.

Uses of Nimesulide:
  • Rapid onset of action within 15 minutes
  • Rapidly relieves pain in arthritis(joints).
  • Nimesulide has superior gastrointestinal safety as compared to other NSAIDs.
  • Its multifactorial mode of action gives it a unique and broad action on inflammatory processes.
The onset of action of nimesulide is faster and also has a potent and long lasting anti-pyretic affect.
